West Virginia Penitentiary
This prison was built in 1876 and continued to serve until 1995 when it was shut down by a ruling in the WV Supreme Court that conditions there were "cruel and unusual punishment". During the years that the prison was open 84 inmates were executed by hanging and 9 were electrocuted. Add to these numbers other deaths that took place here by murder and disease you have the makings for a very active paranormal spot.
